Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) – an European telecoms gear maker will shut down the landline products factory in Kolkata on July 31, 2013.
Reason behind the Shut Down:
- The Kolkata factory has not been profitable.
- The change in the company strategy towards mobile broadband from land line products
- NSN’s decision to cut 17,000 jobs worldwide as part of a restructuring plan
